Breast Reduction Surgery
Mammoplasty or better known as breast reduction surgery removes excess breast fat,
glandular tissue and skin to achieve a breast size in proportion with your body.
Overly large breasts frequently cause back and neck pain associated with rashes
and the likelihood of infection in the folds underneath the breasts. Very often
sleep and ones ability to participate in certain activities may be affected. Some
women have emotional problems with feelings of self consciousness due to self image
issues and unable to lead an active life. This procedure is sometimes considered a
necessary reconstructive process and may be covered by health insurance plans when a
minimum amount of tissue is removed. A reduction removes extra breast tissue to achieve
a healthier, more comfortable size, reshaping the breasts, making them firmer and lifting
them to a more youthful position. Breast reduction surgery is one of the five most common
reconstructive procedures carried out by plastic surgeons each year.
